Welcome To Gixo!
To get started, select the app icon from your home screen. If you've not registered with us, create an account by tapping “Sign up." If you have registered in the past, tap “Log In" to enter your email or username and password.
The first time you open the app, you'll be greeted with a request to allow Gixo to use your GPS/Location Services even when not in use. This needs to be enabled in order to accurately track your workouts.
Get social. If you enjoy working out with friends, connect with friends via Facebook, contacts stored in your phone, or by personal invitation. You can chat and message your friends in the app during each workout.
Once you've added your friends, you can 'Follow' them, to receive notifications on what classes they're taking! You can see the list of people you follow (and who follows you) in the 'People' section of the app.
Create your profile. At the bottom right of your screen, tap “Me”. You can edit your profile information by tapping “Edit profile” directly under your name. Take a new profile picture or upload a profile picture already saved on your mobile device by tapping the pencil tool.
Browse classes. Tap “Pick a Class” in the 'Home' section of the app, or select the “Classes” icon from the bottom toolbar. The 'Classes' page will show all the classes for the next 7 days. Scroll down through the list, or look ahead through the week by selecting a different day at the top of the list.
Each class description will show the start time, instructor's name and the class duration. If you tap on "Learn More", you can see more details about the class.
Joining a class. To join a class, just tap "Sign Up" on the class you wish to join. That's it! After you've signed up, you may be prompted to invite your friends to join too. You can "Skip" this stage if you wish.
If the class has already started, you'll see the option to "Go to class". You'll then be prompted to take a check-in photo. Then you'll be connected to the live class.
If the class is starting soon (<20mins), you'll be prompted to "Go to class" and take your check-in photo. Then you'll be placed in the 'Warmup Room'. Here, you can chat to the other participants and the coach, while you wait for class to begin. You'll see a countdown timer at the top of the screen, indicating how long until your class begins.
Before Class. Class always starts on time. Make sure you're ready by joining the 'Warmup Room' a few minutes early. This will ensure you don't miss anything, and it'll allow a few minutes for the music to buffer, so that it's ready to play when class begins.
Ensure you have:
- Headphones (ideally with a built in Microphone)
- A reliable internet connection (4G/LTE for outdoor classes or WiFi for indoor classes)
- At least 30% battery charge on your device
- A water bottle (recommended) To stay hydrated during your workout
During Class. The coach will automatically appear on your screen promptly at the class start time. During the 'welcome segment', your camera and microphone will automatically turn ON for 30-60 seconds so you can talk to your coach. The other participants won't be able to see or hear you. Your camera & mic will be OFF for the entire workout, except occasional 'water-breaks'. If you'd prefer to keep your Camera & Mic OFF, you can do this in the privacy settings in class.
The instructor will guide you through the entire workout, with verbal cues and demo videos, streamed to your device.
You can interact with the coach and other participants during the class, with messages, voice calls, emojis and photos.
After Class. After finishing a workout, You'll be prompted to give a rating (out of 0-5 stars). You can also leave more feedback by following the link at the bottom of the screen. Then, you'll see the “Workout Summary" page, and the option to "Pick another class".
